  [HDA-Intel - HDA Intel, playback] Pulseaudio fails to detect card

  Dell Inspiron
  Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz × 2 
  I just updated to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64-bit and after doing so I have no sound.

  I ran everything on the troubleshooting page
  (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting) and a number
  of fixes from the Unbuntu forums and no luck. I believe the problem is
  a non detection of my sound card. In the sound settings it says

  Play sound through: Dummy Output

  However, after running troubleshooting page, I found that the sound
  card is in fact installed and working as far as the computer is
  concerned.
