[Bug 1364478] Re: Cant update ubuntu 14.04

 

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.17 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

  Cant update ubuntu 14.04

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I have a Dell xps l501x laptop and i have ubuntu on it. Its all fine
  but when i upgrade the 13.10 to 14.04 all was great, then when i
  updated it, the kernel had change and when i launch ubuntu with grub
  it says KERNEL PANIC, and i cant do anything so i installed again the
  14.04 ubuntu and i cant update because of the kernel panic.
