Using an older 12.04 LTS DVD from which I booted. Report is being sent.
Question: How do I find updates which were applied on Sept22 thru tty1?

Desktop not loading after password entry

Incomplete
Bug description:
After automatic update Sept 22, my ubuntu will not go past password-
entry screen. After I enter password it goes back to login-screen.
Tried the former kernel also: 3.13.0-35, but same problem. Recovery
mode through GRUB also does not work (all kernels, two)
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade did not help
either
