[Bug 1383474] Re: please build and test the 14.04 LTS linux kernel using an updated toolchain
I've run this on amd64, ppc64el (on virt) and it has booted and it can
run simple stress-ng tests without any noticeable differences in
failure. I'm also running the SRU regression tests on amd64/i386 and
will report those results.

Bug description:
To better support the new architectures arm64 and ppc64e, we are
planning to update the toolchain for 14.04 LTS. The toolchain is able
to build the kernels in 14.04 LTS, but please confirm that the kernels
built by this toolchain still work as expected.
please open tasks for the other kernel sources as well.
The updated toolchain is in the ubuntu-toolchain-r/ppa PPA.
