Re: Banshee's interface as a Package Manager, Keryx?
One thing I noticed about the screenshot here...
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4IfYnHLEdnY/Slu05q-ZTfI/AAAAAAAAAq0/RNF2e3BYQx4/s1600-h/yastshee1.png
...it's got the category thing going on while displaying all packages,
not just the top-level apps in gnome-app-install-data. It would take a
lot of doing to get lib packages to go fit into categories like
top-level apps.
So unfortunately, it still looks like it's going to have to be a
Synaptic or an Add/Remove Programs style interface or an inclusion of
both (advanced/simple view).
Besides that technicality, it's a very clean interface and easy to
understand almost at first glance. I think we'll have to strive for
that kind of simplicity in the Keryx 1.0 interface while still
including all the features necessary in a portable package manager.
