Here is the list of mingw components that I installed in
c:\msys\1.0\mingw\:

binutils-2.15.91-20040904-1
w32api-3.6
mingw-utils-0.3
mingw-runtime-3.9
gcc-core-3.4.2-20040916-1
gcc-g++-3.4.2-20040916-1

That set was sufficient for compiling KiCad in non-unicode mode. I do
not know whether all of those components are necessary.
