IIRC there is no 'official' provision for comments... they work between
components because of the way scanning is done (also IIRC). I don't see
a real need for comments for machine generated/machine consumed only
files but since it's not breaking anything as a feature I've nothing
against it (and I dare to call you 'bloat' a one liner like that)
