should produce a summary test with. Can you explain?

I already sent the problem board, gerber, and DXF files directly to JP
so he can duplicate the problem.

Never happened to me... however it's correct that gerbers can't have
self intersecting polygons... have you tried at least the 'butterfly'
for a summary test?
Otherwise the incriminated board could be useful to pinpoint the issue
