As far as here is a talk about home directory pollution with kicad files - Is it 
desired that lock files are created in home directory with strange name - full 
path to file being edited with slashes ('/') replaced with underscores('_') 
(e.g. _home_<user>_projects_proj1_hardware_schematic.sch.lock when opening file 
/home/<user>/projects/proj1/hardware/schematic.sch)?

 What's the function of this lock file? Shouldn't it be placed in project 
folder behind the file being edited?

 Another question about ~/eeschema-<user>, ~/pcbnew-<user> and similar files. 
Shouldn't it be placed in ~/.kicad or /var/lock as almost all other programs do? 
If those files are placed not in /var/lock, what's the purpose of username in 
file names if files are created inside that user home directory?
