Hello all,

this week I have started updating Kicad's Greek GUI translation
(current Greek .po files updated from the latest code sources). The
plan is to complete this by 30/Oct/2015.

Great!

I would be very happy if this Greek GUI translation is included in
the upcoming stable Kicad release. I was planning on translating big
parts of the text and bzr push the .po file every 2 weeks.

I do not see why this could not be done. A translation does not change
the inner working of the program so I do not see any problem at all.

Your pushes could be even more frequent, I do not see any drawback...

Is there a better way to do it, also taking into consideration the
upcoming stable release?

IMHO not

Do we know when is it due?

Wayne?

PS: are you considering to translate a manual too? The "getting started"
could very useful for a KiCad newbie...

Hi Marco,

I'm working together with Michael on this.

Our current plan is to also make a simple -yet functional- open hardware design with Kicad (eg. a little USB2UART board or something like that) and publish it along with BOM and manufacturing files.

This design will be accompanied by a step-by-step tutorial in Greek on how to design this board, with screenshots from the next stable version of KiCad under the new translated Greek GUI.

Best,
Dimitris
