English is just as described above, "clockwise" and "counter clockwise".
 This is why translation is tricky.  The Greek should be translated into
the words for "rightwise" and "leftwise" you proposed rather than the
more wordy definition that you defined that is the literal meaning of
"clockwise" and "counter clockwise".
