I'm not sure why you're surprised this passed UI review, and that may
be because there's a bit of confusion as to what a UI review is. A UI
is not a QA review. It's simply not realistic to go through every
affected page and see what might be changed. I trust the submitter
to have thought about that, and demonstrate it in the UI review. As a
UI reviewer, I look at the UI a submitter presents to me, and I think
about things that would make this change specifically bad. If I can't
think of anything, I think of something that might make it better. In
this case, I didn't have either. That's how it passed UI review.
If you want my opinion, I think the registration section would be
better if it was out of the crowded (and valuable) top area entirely.
At the very least, in most "code" cases I think it's just noise anyway.
That being said, the best UI reviews are reviews given to us by our
users (in this case, it's you! :) On that alone I think it's worth
implementing your change and see what the other users say. If Curtis
is okay with it, I certainly would like to see it out. Essentially,
you have a week and a half before you're completely committed to the UI
for a month (release to release), so experimentation should be
encouraged, especially in small changes like this.
Cheers,
Paul
