"won't matter" is strong.

There is no current plan to have anything significantly different than what we have now in this regard: a branch with the code, with the LOSAs to deploy, administer, and generally have privileges on the box.  

Getting direct dev access to, effectively, what is now the PQM machine is largely an orthogonal project to SimplifyMergeMachinery.
