I just had a quick scan through and I know a number of things you are 
mentioning here relate very much to concerns and ideas that Ian Booth talked 
about when first starting.

I'll let Ian elaborate.

I think at the very least, we need to move away from how we are doing things 
now.  I'm not sure what the new scenery will look like, but it'll be different.
