I'm glad that you're adding convenience stuff. However, wouldn't this
be better in e.g. oops-datedir-repo, oops itself, or oops-tools? It
really has nothing to do with LP's core. (And I want us to strip LP
back to a lean, mean, beautiful core).

Perhaps you could move it?
