Message #09089
Colouring kinds of information?
We have a sharing picker that uses colours for each kind of information.
This will appear in bugs and branches soon, but everyone can see this on
the skeleton view we built for sharing. I do not think colour is
appropriate, but maybe other can argue it is needed:
Visit https://launchpad.net/launchpad/+sharing
Choose the Share link
Search for launchpad-security
Select launchpad-security
[Disregard the bogus picker title and Public and Public security options]
When I see colours in Lp enumerations, I interpret that the colour means
a sequence or scale, where colour is used to indicate how I should
react. Red is critical--act now. Green is Fix Released, action is complete.
There is not action for me to take when I see a kinds of information.
Saying something is Public or Proprietary is statement of fact. There is
no action to take. Embargoed Security is the only kind of information
that may have an action -- fix it, then change it to Unembargoed security.
I think Kinds or Information, and Sharing polices should be normal text
colour.
