I strongly recommend implementing support for the .sources format instead of doing just the bare minimum to make things work.

This is only the list of series that launchpad-buildd will support running on, not the list of series that may be used to build various artifacts in a chroot/LXD container. This merge proposal tries to change the format used by the latter and doing so will allow us to update the chroots to a more recent version and also upload chroots for oracular which require deb822 support.
