It would be quite cool if it marked the bug as "Fix Committed" in
circumstances where the branch committed to is the one that is linked
to a release series. Equally, where the branch is linked to an Ubuntu
source package, it would be great to have Ubuntu bugs marked as fix
committed too.

I haven't checked whether a bug already exists for this idea, but am
happy to file one if there is no objection of principle to the idea.
