Perhaps this could be handled as an exceptional case by asking a
Question against Launchpad, and an admin would remove the record?  We
could advertise in the faq that this is possible.

Status in The Launchpad Registry: Won't Fix

Bug description:
When a LP user leaves a team they are shown as a Former Member of that team for a period.

The user should be able to decide if they wish to be shown at all.
