[Launchpad-users] [OT maybe] keeping track of moving binaries

Hi all,
I'm sure lot of people on the list have some favorite
applications, packages etc. and find it pretty annonying to know where
a particular binary package went.

For e.g. something like this

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/212114

The bug (while it had its own importance) is of not concern to me but
these lines

"The uuidgen binary has moved (again) to a uuid-runtime package. "

It has not been the first or the last time when a binary package has
either been split up into its own package or been consolidated into
one package.

What happens is as a user if I wanna read up (online) the changes done
on uuid-runtime.

Here's what I get when I put uuid-runtime on launchpad.

https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+search?text=uuid-runtime

The
https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/util-linux

or

https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/e2fsprogs

I'm looking for history of that specific program/package.

The only one I get is

https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid/hppa/uuid-runtime/1.40.8-2ubuntu2

but there again there's no changelog file or something that I could
read into online.

Please lemme know if I've erred in some way.
