I went through the discussion above. But I failed to follow the arguments,
since they lack details (e.g. [1]).
But I _think_, the following statement [2] raised some concerns and changed
the direction of the discussion:

The goal here, is with permission, to help refresh the logo as needed for the
site relaunch and to add a new mark that highlights the Fedora connection as we
are super happy this is being hosted in our ecosystem.

This sounds like the proposed new logo is supposed to contain a "mark"
indicating Fedora's infrastructure support. In this case (mixing Fedora
artwork with the current logo) I could understand some legal concerns.

But I am not sure, if we really want this.
As far as I understand the discussion, there is no problem with hosting the
(old or new) software and the current logo on Fedora infrastructure. The
problems only start, when Fedora people are working in their office time on new
artwork for the project. Please correct me, if this is a misunderstanding.

Personally I have the following preferences:
* I would like to keep the current name of the
  domain/project/protocol/service as "libravatar".
* I have no opinion regarding the logo and the name of the software.

Cheers,
Lars

PS: in the very unlikely case that it is indeed absolutely not possible to run
the service under the name "libravatar" on Fedora infrastructure, then I could
imagine that we want to avoid the hassle and run the host on our own. I would
offer to administer such a host. But I am really quite confident, that there is
no direct conflict between the name "libravatar" and our planned use of the
infrastructure generously offered by Fedora.
