If the WG had monthly milestones I could change the scripts to track the whole project in monthly increments thus tracking the whole project. Milestones would be labelled on the chart, I had an implementation of this at the sprint a little while back. Needs work though.

No, I meant outside of Launchpad. Let Launchpad collect the data, this is exported to a .db and what we do with it afterwards is up to us. Launchpad is great but it has zero project management integration. To get that we need to use the data unless the launchpad team is willing to implement a lot of functionality.

Date status isn't currently supported although I'd like to see it implemented. On caveat though, doing this on a wiki is sub-optimal. This needs a tracking-dashboard project which I've mentioned a few times. A django site that pulls in launchpad data and spits out meaningful reports. For an organisation that lives by reporting about the great work its doing something like this would be essential IMO.
