Re: Plan for Work Tracking Tool

Coming from a background where the tools were at the same time the blessing
and the curse (politically correct: excuse?), I'd say that we need to go
with a simple tool but one which is highly customizable and can be
reconfigured to attach to anything that we need (launchpad or anything
else). The closer a tool is to a paper board the simpler, and easier to
adopt.

I had a look at redmine, through zyga's setup. It is simple, it seems to be
customizable (through plugins), supports various database formats, it is
open source. Perhaps we ought to pilot it, and see what kind of reports it
can generate (and how fast it can be reconfigured to spew new reports), as
well as how well (and at what cost) it can be used with Launchpad (either
through a discrete import/export of data type of symbiosis, or through
continuous two-way data feed between the tools). I will raise the matter to
the multimedia team as they are now starting the cycle planning.

I added redmine in the spreadsheet. I wonder why it was not there yet, was
there ever a decision to exclude it?

Thanks,
