[Bug 952873] Re: MythTV-Setup crashes with segfault when scanning for channels
No problem Marc.
Last night, I upgraded to the use the 0.25 repository, as I was trying
to resolve another issue relating to video playback performance.
During the upgrade, I deleted my channels, then rescanned for channels
(as I had already tried with 0.24 before reporting this bug). The scan
completed successfully, and I was able to proceed through the upgrade
process on 0.25.
Prior to this upgrade, I performed a snapshot of my backend server, so I
can revert this temporarily to obtain the logs/traces you have
requested, if you need me to. I have mentioned this on mythtv-users and
I was told that if the bug is not apparent in 0.25, then a bug against
0.24 would likely be closed on their Trac system anyway. Would this be
the case here, or would you like me to provide the information needed to
look into this bug, in case other users experience this when using the
0.24 repo?
Cheers,
Joe

Title:
MythTV-Setup crashes with segfault when scanning for channels
Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
Incomplete
Bug description:
When running mythtv-setup and performing a channel scan, the scan
appears to near the end of completion, then mythtv-setup crashes. I am
therefore unable scan for channels.
Some info on my system:
Ubuntu 10.04.4 x86_64
MythTV installed from MythBuntu repositories
MythTV Version : v0.24.2-24-gcd8c9c2
MythTV Branch : fixes/0.24
Network Protocol : 63
Library API : 0.24.20110505-1
QT Version : 4.6.2
Options compiled in:
linux profile using_alsa using_oss using_pulse using_pulseoutput using_backend using_bindings_perl using_bindings_python using_crystalhd using_directfb using_dvb using_firewire using_frontend using_hdhomerun using_hdpvr using_iptv using_ivtv using_joystick_menu using_lirc using_mheg using_opengl_video using_opengl_vsync using_qtdbus using_qtwebkit using_v4l using_x11 using_xrandr using_xv using_bindings_perl using_bindings_python using_mythtranscode using_opengl using_vdpau using_ffmpeg_threads using_live using_mheg
This is an 'established' system - i.e. it's not a new setup - I was
able to successfully scan using all the same hardware when I
originally set the system up.
