Can you verify this issue still exists in the latest version of Ubuntu,

Title:
Problems with Wireless and Wired Network Setup
Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
Incomplete
Bug description:
This problem is in both Mythbuntu and Ubuntu 10.
I have been trying to get an older PC setup with by starting with a stable copy of ubuntu and upgrading. I was OK until I upgraded to 9.04 at which time I could no longer get the system to see the installed (PCI) linksystem card. I hooked to the network with a cable and even this was painful. The speed test showed about 10% of what MS computers showed. I tried several times to get the 9.1 upgrade but it keep failing due to dropped internet.
I gave up with this older computer and tried running both Mythbuntu
and Ubuntu 10.04 with the live CDs and both failed to see the wireless
hardware on this almost new Dell Precision M6400.
So it seems there are major issues with wireless and wired network
setup during install. Maybe if I did a full install on this newer
computer I could get things working correctly, but I would think
Linksys hardware should be one of the standards.
I really loved the older ubuntu and I hope these bugs are soon worked
out to once again give a stable and usable system.
