Can you please try with 12.04?  We're not fixing stuff on 11.10 anymore.
If it persists, I think we'll need some logs to debug further.  Starting
with the X log and syslog.

  Black screen after installation

Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I installed Mythbuntu 11.10 on my desktop PC. After the installation
  the PC rebooted with a black screen. I don't know whether it was
  because I selected the proprietary graphics driver (NVIDIA) without
  being connected to the internet.
