Please, follow this FAQ : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/2197
Thxs.

I'm thinking at something for this bugs and others. You should update too
your version of Openshot (and MLT) and re-test again.
Follow this FAQ for that :

Title:
  When changing speed, the start position of a clip should be in the
  same place

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
  New

Bug description:
  When I change speed of a clip that starts not from 0:00, it's start
  position changes because of scale factor. This is very inconvenient
  and requires re-adjusting of clips when you change speed.

  This also makes almost impossible to do things like

  * cut a clip in 3 pieces
  * speed up the middle piece

  Please, make so that after speed is adjusted, the clip cutting
  positions remain the same.

  OpenShot 1.4.0, Ubuntu 12.04LTS
