[Bug 1084254] Re: Wrong link to freenode.net
Technically speaking.
irc.freenode.net is a dns alias (CNAME) for chat.freenode.net.
chat.freenode.net points at many different irc servers.
freenode.net (and www.freenode.net) is the freenode website.
irc.freenode.net (chat.freenode.net) are the actually irc server(s)
address.
The reference to irc.london.gov.uk refers to a irc server, not the
website. Therefore it is accurate.
thanks
chris

Wrong link to freenode.net
Status in Ubuntu Manual:
New
Bug description:
Hi!
In the following string:
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu-manual/precise-e2/+pots/ubuntu-manual/fr/100/+translate
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu-manual/quantal/+pots/ubuntu-manual/fr/104/+translate
"\acronym{IRC}: \#ubuntu-manual on \url{irc.freenode.net}"
should probably be replaced with
"\acronym{IRC}: \#ubuntu-manual on \url{freenode.net}"
Best regards
Sylvie
