I hope I'm getting this in the right place. Please feel free to move it
if there's another place where this bug report should belong.

I'm using MythTV 0.27+fixes on a Ubuntu 12.04 box.

The file /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/MythTV/ttvdb/tvdb_api.py (from
the package libmyth-python) is out of date. There was a bug fix upstream
made about 7 months ago that I've had to manually apply to my system.
The version shipped with the MythTV package shows a version of 1.2.1,
the current latest version in 1.9.

The bug specifically is an incorrect base url name. The latest version
uses the correct URL thetvdb.com as opposed to www.thetvdb.com.
Ultimately, what the script should really be doing is parsing the result
of calling the mirrors API and using the base URL's there.
