[Bug 1263904] Re: Animated Rotate Effect values are incorrect

I'm not sure to understand what do you want. At least that's not clear for me. Initially, I was focused on the rotation tool and after with animated title 360 degrees for coming back to the rotation tool. You have one tool and two ways for using it.
One easy (and it was the purpose) in the contextual menu of the clip with 4 values : none (by default), 90 degrees on the right, on the left and 180 degrees.
The second way is more complicated and the user must modified properties and checked in the player which is on the left to see the result expected. It is very difficult to use.

This values come from freiOr-plugins until now. In the next big version
of Openshot, we will remove them (i.e freiOr-plugins) and will use those
of our own framework libopenshot.

However your remarks are good. Thanks.

    Milestone: None => 1.5.0

Title:
Animated Rotate Effect values are incorrect

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
  New

Bug description:
  Architecture (64 bits or 32 bits) : 64bit
Operating System & version: Ubuntu 12.04
  Installation Method : ppa openshot_developers
Version of Openshot installed : v1.4.3
BZR Revision used (if any) : unknown
  MLT/melt version: unknown
  FFmpeg (i.e.libavcodec) version : v0.8.1
  FFmpeg installation : v0.8.5

  Problem:
When trying to have an animated rotate effect, it is nearly impossible to get an exact 180, 360, or 720 degree rotation.

  What is expected:
To set 360 as the value for animated rotate and have the video result in a 360 degree animated rotation.

  What happens:
A small input of 1 in animated rotate results in nearly ~200 degrees rotation. This behavior is inconsistent with the "fixed rotate" values. An input of 1 in "fixed rotate" equals 1 degree of rotation.

For the long term, it may be better to change both, and have a value of 1.0 equal to 360degrees. This would allow a person to rotate their video many times without having to do mental mathematics. For example, easier to input 8.0, than think: 360 degrees multiplied by 8 rotations.
