[Bug 1106439] Re: No display output using HDMI monitor with Gnome
We really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve
Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The
biggest one is that upstream has moved on to a new version and believes
this to be fixed. Could you please verify if this issue still exists in
the latest version?
Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a
new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with the newer
versions.

Title:
No display output using HDMI monitor with Gnome
Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
Expired
Bug description:
I installed Mythbuntu 12.04 on a Dell Inspiron 660s with an HDMI
monitor, and everything seemed to go fine.
I then ran:
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
and after I rebooted, the HDMI screen is completely blank. I see the
bios screen, but after it starts to load Linux, the screen goes
completely black and never returns. I can still SSH into the box, and
I don't see anything wrong in the logs, so I don't know what's wrong.
I tried reverting to a standard Ubuntu install, but I found the Ubuntu
12.04 installer doesn't even work with HDMI (whereas at least
Mythbuntu could do that).
How do I get the boot/login sequence to work with HDMI again?
