[Bug 1106439] [NEW] No display output using HDMI monitor with Gnome
Public bug reported:
I installed Mythbuntu 12.04 on a Dell Inspiron 660s with an HDMI
monitor, and everything seemed to go fine.
I then ran:
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
and after I rebooted, the HDMI screen is completely blank. I see the
bios screen, but after it starts to load Linux, the screen goes
completely black and never returns. I can still SSH into the box, and I
don't see anything wrong in the logs, so I don't know what's wrong.
I tried reverting to a standard Ubuntu install, but I found the Ubuntu
12.04 installer doesn't even work with HDMI (whereas at least Mythbuntu
could do that).
How do I get the boot/login sequence to work with HDMI again?
** Affects: mythbuntu
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
