[Bug 587939] Re: dc++ crashes randomly, starting recently

I don't expect you to support this version at all. I was just asking in
case someone happened to be familiar with it, if it was a well-known
bug? A bugreport may very well have been the wrong way to do that
though. I'm sorry if that is the case, I did not intend to clutter up
your issue tracker. The fact is that these older versions are quite
common, at least in some circles, because of some of the feature
additions and GUI changes that by lots of us are regarded as straying
from the aims and goals of the original DC++ project. That does not mean
we are necessarily entitled to support, but it might be important to
consider (and I personally don't think that kind of tone was needed).

What kind of ways crashing it are you referring to?

Again, let me make clear that I don't demand that anyone make any
changes to any code. It was just a way to ask if someone recognised the
issue.

Status in DC++: Invalid

Bug description:
OS version: Windows 7 Professional (all the latest updates)
DC++ version: 0.699 (I don't agree with some of the latest UI changes)

I've been running DC++ 0.699 in Vista (since it went RTM) and until just recently, Windows 7 (since it hit RTM) with no problems what so ever. It has worked fine for weeks at a time. No it can't handle more than 15-20 minutes without crashing. I have yet devised a way to reproduce the bug. I'm working on that. I should proably also say that I "disabled" the version check by routing dcplusplus.sourceforge.net to localhost since there was no way to disable it in the Settings. All I know is that the intruction at 0x00459766 is TEST AL,AL but since it won't allow me to debug it (gets stuck) I don't know what it's supposed to compare.
