you could just leave the IP field blank and make sure the "don't allow
hubs / etc to override" box is not checked. this will work on all hubs
except some old NMDC ones (those that don't support the "UserIp"
extension).

  dc++ does not update ip from dns after it starts

Bug description:
  if i start dc++ , having set a url of my dyndns account rather than my
  ip address in the connectivity settings, and my ip changes after dc++
  is running and dyndns has updated the url to point to my new ip
  address , dc++ will still hold the old ip address and stop being able
  to establish connections
