So, I'm gradually reducing possibilities. I'll try over night with just
launching LXTerminal to get a 'top', close it and try again in the morning.
I will disable the WiFi connection over night.

load average: 1.37, 1.44, 1.28
Something is running to produce load averages like this, screen-saver?
