I tried the newest Lubuntu daily live image and it still has ubiquity 2.7.17 whereas the installer team is now up to 2.7.20:

 https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/oneiric/+source/ubiquity/+changelog

I haven't checked debian-installer but I'd expect likewise ;^)
