You're right the yellow bar seems to have disappeared, on a fresh install from beta 1.  It's still there on an upgrade from 11.10.  Also, I'm getting a 'Permission denied' message if I open /home/name as root but, not if I open a sub-folder such as /home/name/Documents.

Do yopu want to do a bug report for the yellow bar and I'll do one for the Permission denied.
