Hallo
Persistence is just a feature that the live session gives you if enabled
during the creation of the usb key using startup disk creator.
Is a file where are stored all the settings you have done tho the live
session, file created, system's logfiles and everyhtings that will be
normally remembered by a pc at the next reboot, emulating on the fact
the behaviour you will normally have but without installing the OS on
the key, just running it in live session and creating so a
'persistence', alsewhere at the subsequent reboot everythings will be
lost.
Pratically gives you the possibility to have your pocket Ubuntu
(obviously with all the limits that a system running on a usb key can
have).
When you've created the usb key and opened it in nautilus, you can find
a file named casper-rw, that is the persistence file.
During the tests it is usefull, because it store all the log files
keeping track of eventual bugs, so if your session crash or freeze,
reboot and you can see what caused the problem.
