Currently, I think it's a bug somewhere between the way the desktop ISO 
is done, and the new "format" of powerpc kernel (there several new 
binaries since 13.04), since alternate is not affected. I need to raise 
and document a bug about it.

In the meantime, I can cut-off some applications not essential to reduce 
the size of the ISO. But it will also remove by default those 
applications for all installations (not only the desktop ISO).
