Re: Fwd: Trusty 14.04.2 Testing
Boris, et al:
Looking at the PPC options for this phase, it looks like there is only an
"alternate installer" option for Lubuntu, and a server option . . . .
Unfortunately I've got no spare unused HDs sitting around to try out an alt
installer on; after last time where I was trying to do a test of 14.10 or
something, install onto an ext HD thru my iBook, and the installer used
both int & ext for its process, trashing my Lu 14 install on the iBook in
the process . . . I am loathe to try that again. If there was/is a "live
desktop" version I could try that out . . . .
I have "revived" an old Sawtooth G4, but it only boots CDs, does not mount
DVDs . . . I had a CD of Xubuntu 12.04 that installed on it . . . a bit
"slow" with a 450 MHz processor--but might be able to test "live" iso's . .
. don't think it could handle 14.04 right now, might try later if I
increase RAM or upgrade processor. Looks like I might be "out" for this
phase, my apologies to all PPC users around the globe . . . .
