Message #04928
Lubuntu testcases
I asked for people to help with testcases and Istimsak Abdulbasir
answered the call. He has now had his [first submission][] (for Gnome
System Monitor) merged!
Based on that experience, I made a [new folder][] for LXDE and
Lubuntu-only components. Note that LXTerminal is not included, but it
is in the main packages folder. It can be used on its own. Other
applications like Abiword, Gnumeric, Leafpad, etc., should stay in the
main packages folder for this same reasson.
As much as possible, testcases should be written from the most general
perspective possible. Remember that LXDE and even Lubuntu Software
Center can be installed on any flavor, even though we do separate them
in the file hierarchy. That being said, try to keep it general. For an
example, see Istimsak's testcase. More info on writing testcases can
be found in the [style guide][].
Here's LXDE/Lubuntu-specific components we don't have testcases for:
* lubuntu-default-session: Set default session to Lubuntu
* lxlauncher: LXDE launcher for netbooks
* lxsession-default-apps: utility to configure lxsession and its
default applications
* lxsession-logout: utility to logout from a LXDE or an Openbox session
* lxshortcut: LXDE application shortcut editor
* lubuntu-artwork: artwork for Lubuntu
* lubuntu-default-settings: default settings for Lubuntu
We should make sure lxappearance-obconf and
lxpanel-indicator-applet-plugin are covered adequately in the
lxappearance and lxpanel testcases.
We also might want to do openbox and obconf, but this would be
testcases for the main packages directory.
Thanks, everyone, for your help!
