Status in “xkeyboard-config” source package in Ubuntu: Triaged
Bug description:
Binary package hint: xkeyboard-config
German Thinkpad T43p with a german Sun USB keyboard ("Model: Type 7") attached (doesn't matter if I use the notebook-keyboard or the USB one): Umlauts etc. work, but AltGr doesn't, meaning e.g. no curly brackets, backslashes or "at" for me.
The keyboard is configured to be an "Evdev-managed keyboard: Germany" (following recommendation from Alpha 5 "Known Issues"). I'm also following the recommendation to file a bug should a key not work as intended (well, that was obvious ;-) )
The keyboard applet shows that when pressing AltGr in fact "ISO_L..." is registered. The keyboard has only three keys right of the space key, the applet assumes four. Faulty layout detection?
Expected: AltGr works
What happens instead: AltGr not functional, "ISO_L..." registered
