I am unsure of the implementation. Please file a bug against the  
kernel if you think it is not operating as it should.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: acpi

The CPU fan on my laptop isn't working. This results in high (and potentially fatal) CPU temperatures. Running ubuntu for about 10 minutes and then restarting into OSX results in a lot of fan activity to try and cool down the overheated CPU. I am running 9.10
