[Bug 434652] Re: Fan isn't working correctly on MacBook 5, 2
I've just had a poke round applesmc, and from what I gather there is
just a minimum value for fan speed, and a temperature threshold above
which the fan speed increases dramatically. Is there not something
implemented like this:
http://www.lobotomo.com/products/FanControl/images/screenshot.gif (ie. A
linear relationship between fan speed and CPU temperature)?

Bug description:
Binary package hint: acpi
The CPU fan on my laptop isn't working. This results in high (and potentially fatal) CPU temperatures. Running ubuntu for about 10 minutes and then restarting into OSX results in a lot of fan activity to try and cool down the overheated CPU. I am running 9.10
