This issue does not seem to be a duplicated of bug 488720. However, I
think this is a duplicate of bug 488328. You can find a test kernel I
built with a patch fix at http://people.canonical.com/~cndougla/488328
/linux-image-2.6.32-13-generic_2.6.32-13.19~lp488328_i386.deb. If that
kernel fixes your issue, please state as such and mark this bug as a
duplicate of bug 488328.

Status in “gnome-power-manager” package in Ubuntu: New

Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

If I've suspended my laptop by closing the lid, when I open it to resume, the screen stays blank, even though sound starts back up and wifi reconnects.

If I suspend from the menu, or invoke pm-utils from a console, then the resume works perfectly.

This has been true since upgrading to Lucid last week.

Gnome power manager is 2.29.1-0ubuntu2

Pm-utils is 1.30~rc1-0ubuntu1

Kernel is linux-image-2.6.32.11.15
