Craig,

Is this just on mahara.org or is it in all Maharas?

Could you paste in here an example or two of the formatting that's
ignored?  If it's stuff being overwritten by our css rules we may have
to handle each instance individually (which I think is what we had to do
with the list bullets disappearing).

Bug description:
There seem to be problems in mahara.org formatting text in a text box using the WYSIWYG editor with IE 

Have tried IE 7 where the formatting applied seems to be ignored.

In IE8 the formatting is applied but is hard to apply to blocks of text and undo.

Using Windows Vista and Windows 7
