The natural way of doing this would be to create a new file artefact
type. However, if someone wants to take this on, please be careful, it's
not as simple as it sounds.

We have done that in 1.5 for audio and video files (see bug #829136) and
it has caused a large number of bugs.

- Interesting idea. Maybe file it as a feature request on the tracker? I think it would be a good feature if we had little thumbnails of PDFs too :)
