It's probably the slow query described at
https://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=4102

This should be quite a bit faster in 1.5, so the best thing to do is
upgrade when the release comes out.  Gary Beldon's comment on the thread
indicates that the same changes also help for 1.4, so backporting them
is another option.

  Browser hangs on Profile and Resume blocks

  The page editor hangs when profile or resume blocks are dragged into a
  page. Here's a video from Firefox 11:

  The same thing happens for another user in Chrome.

  Sam says this has been happening for years. She is currently on Mahara
  1.4.

  I could not replicate it on demo.mahara.org and the user with the
  Chrome issue could neither. But it's clearly happening on their
  installations.
