[Bug 1021608] Re: Install Language Packs like in moodle

Hello Kristina,

I do not completely understand your argument. In Mahara you will find
under /var/www/mahara/lang/en.utf8 the english lang pack with all
strings. And under ~/maharadata/langpacks are the other lang packs, for
example de.utf8, also with all the translated strings.

For me as an admin of moodle & mahara it makes it a little bit difficult
to handle the update of the german lang pack from launchpad and my own
changes. To download the lang pack, to extract it, copy it to the right
place and to make a diff of it and my own translations is a little bit a
time wasting. ;-)

Thats why I am asking for a solution like in moodle with the 'official'
lang pack - updated continuously by the community of mahara - and a
local translation like 'de.utf8_local', which overwrites the original
pack.

Thanx anyway,
michael
