I've thought about this as well, although it seems like something it
would be hard to add without also increasing the complexity of the Page
management interface in a way that will make it difficult for normal
users (who might stumble at the difference between a folder and a
collection).

I think maybe a better way to improve Page management, would be to have
better sorting abilities on the Page management screen. I.e., columns
that show things like "title", "creation date", "last update", etc, and
the ability to sort by those. I think we have a launchpad bug for that
already somewhere...

  Wishlist item for pages list: ability to create folders of pages

  Hi, this is for mahara 1.7+

  A colleague expressed the desire to "clean up" his growing list of pages on the front page. 
  One way to do this (which is related to a previous wishlist to create icons of pages and have a tiled interface for locating and choosing pages) is to allow the user to create folders as they would in a filesystem. This would also let them organise their pages.

  Putting a page into a folder would not be synonymous with creating
  collections - it's just a way of helping regain some control over the
  hundreds of pages some people have, which is becoming a real issue for
  some people.
